I had some Bass Ale last night in honour of our cousins across the pond. I wonder how and if yesterday's events will change anything.

P.S. As a further show of support, I've amended my spelling of honour. Just for the day, mind you. God save the Queen.

Thanks for stopping by Random. I'll drink some more for you chaps tonight.

MB, when do I get the invite to the beer fridge in your basement?

Butik, Heck ya it's appropriate! Just copy the code out of my blog. That actual picture is stored on Wikipedia.

I would like to point out that you do this every night, but kudos for turning it into a post.

I remember after 9/11 thinking that the feeling one has when living in Israel, that of constant wariness and fear, is something we are all going to have to get used to.

We are one giant step closer to that.

Things will definitely get much worse before they get better.

Cheers to you all x

Sylow, I could write an ode to my beer fridge. So I will:(Whitman won't mind...)

Ode to an ice-cold beer fridge

O beer fridge! my beer fridge! One simple trip downstairs;

This fridge has beer on every rack, the prize I seek is here.

The port is near, so is the ale --the lager so delightful,

It matters not the fridge has rot; I must say it is frightful!

But O fridge! fridge! ice-cold fridge!
O the beers of gold, amber, red,

I can pick the ones I want,
Drink up then go to bed.

Yes, please come by..I cannot make a dent in the number of beers just sitting there waiting for eager hands to grasp and lips aready for the feel of the cold glass and a parched throat's anticipation of the golden goodness of beer!

Guess you can tell I like beer pretty fine.

I like Bass Ale. I PREFER Newcastle Brown. On my "light" days, an Old Speckled Hen will suffice.

Bastille Day! Viva La Indian Pants!
---------
We should remember the origins, history and tradition of the uniforms worn with pride by militaries around the world.

For example, a long time ago, Britain and France were at war. During one battle, the French captured an English colonel. Taking him to their headquarters, the French general began to question him. Finally, as an afterthought, the French general asked, "Why do you English officers all wear red coats? Don't you know the red material makes you easier targets
for us to shoot at?"

In his bland English way, the colonel informed the general that the reason English officers wear red coats are so that if they are shot, the blood won't show and the men they are leading won't panic.

And that is why, from that day to this, all French Army officers wear
brown pants.
