Woody Who?
Last night my wife told me that *one* of the many reasons she loves me, is because I occasionally remind her of a neurotic character from a Woody Allen movie.
Not being a Woody Allen film buff myself I need to ask, is that a compliment or just one of those insults that rely on my ignorance to fool me into believing it's a compliment?

The male, neurotic characters from Woody's films tend to be Woody. There is that one movie where Kenneth Branagh basically does a Woody Allen impersonation.
Does reminding you of Woody sound like a compliment?
Is it possible you remind her of Louise Lasser?
I think that as long as you haven't married any of your own children, then you lack the essential weirdness that is Woody, and thus can still take the "you're as neruotic as Woody" comment as a mild insult, but nowhere near as insulting as if you had married one of your own children and that was then the basis of comparion.
Is your wife known to make smarmy comments that make you wonder if it's a smarmy comment?
I adore Woody Allen.
He's so lovable, witty, endearing and sexy too...I also love men with mild neuroses and a tinge of OCD.
I'd say it's a compliment. From me it would be...
S- no mention of louise.
C- For the record, I am not attracted to children. Especially my own, since they are of the feline persuasion and one of them currently prefers the feel of carpet rather than the litter box.
W- I need an example of smarmy to answer your question. I'm dumb, or maybe you forgot.
M- God Bless you.
Uuuhhh...like;
"No honey, i like it when you dutch-oven me."
Do i need to explain what a dutch-oven is?
No, I'm familiar with the dutch oven phenomenon. She used to make smarmy comments, but she realized that being smarmy with someone as dumb as me will backfire every time.
"But you said you liked it ..."
